We are very excited to have our inaugural concerto competition this coming Saturday, February 4th at Park Royal United Church. Here is the schedule:
Hi everyone – due to the icy conditions we have decided to cancel all levels of Singing Strings today, Wednesday, January 25th.
Use the time today to practice your parts! Stay home and stay warm… see you February 1st!
Natalie, Jen & Sue
Christina Bouey, former Singing Strings member and student of John and Jen Clement, is coming to PEI with her new award winning string quartet!
Please come and support Christina and her quartet on Saturday at UPEI. Tickets may be held to be paid at the door by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or phoning 902 566-0507. Please note that this is not a regular box office and tickets cannot be reserved by email or phone after 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
Tickets can also be purchased online thru Brown Paper Tickets.
We are very excited to be having our very first concerto competition this term! The application deadline had been posted as January 4th, but due to the weather yesterday as well as other concerns, we have extended the application deadline to January 11th.
Are you working on a concerto by Bach, Corelli, Vivaldi or any other composers who wrote for a solo instrument accompanied by strings? Imagine playing a movement of your concerto in a concert, with the Senior Singing Strings as your accompanying orchestra!
An accomplished panel of judges (TBA) will be listening to all the entries and picking our performers on February 4th.
Attached are PDF and Word versions of both the application form and the Concerto Competition information form.
If you have any questions, please email email@example.com for more information.
All levels of Singing Strings are cancelled today due to the weather. Stay home, stay safe and enjoy the snow. See you all next week!
Hi all –
Hi everyone – just a few reminders to pass on:
1. Parking – the church has asked us to remind everyone to please pay attention to and respect the parking signs in the church parking lot – there are a few places reserved for various members of church staff and Wednesday night is meeting night so those spots are needed. Please park in available and non marked spots. Thank you!
2. Food – Senior and Intermediate Strings are reminded that there is no food allowed in the choir room (where we leave our cases). Please have your snack in the hallway, rather than eating in the choir room.
3. This week some schools are not in attendance on Wednesday (Charlottetown Rural family of schools) – but we will still be having rehearsal as normal! Please let your conductor know if you are unable to come due to the school situation.
Thanks, everyone! See you all on Wednesday…
Natalie, Sue, Jen and Wendy
