Hi everyone –
Just a reminder that if you want to keep updated on our travels during our Vienna trip you can subscribe to feeds from our travel blog:
We will be posting updates and pictures from the road so you can live vicariously through our posts!
On June 26th, at 7pm at Park Royal United Church, come support your Senior Singing Strings Youth Orchestra as they perform all the music that they will be playing while on tour in Europe in July! The evening will feature string orchestra music by Josef Suk, Mozart, Puccini, as well as fun pops arrangements of music from the movie ‘Frozen’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
We will also be giving the WORLD PREMIERE of a new piece called ‘Give Voice’ which was written specifically for the Senior Singing Strings by PEI composer, Dr. Richard Covey.
Admission is by donation.
Hope to see you there!
The May 30th concert for the Senior Singing Strings has been postponed until June 26th, due to the craziness of the month of May! We are looking forward to presenting one last concert before we head to Vienna, and this program will include all the music we are playing in Europe, including:
– all the competition repertoire (Holst, Mozart, Suk and Puccini)
– the WORLD PREMIERE of ‘Give Voice‘, a piece specially written for the Singing Strings by Island composer Richard Covey
– more music by our favourite composers such as Richard Meyer, Bela Bartok
– including some fun pops repertoire as well!
Come support your Singing Strings as they get ready to head to the International Summa Cum Laude music competition in Vienna!
June 26th, 7:00pm – admission by donation – Park Royal United Church
Come listen to all three levels of the Singing Strings orchestras tonight as they participate in the PEI Queens County Kiwanis music festival! The Junior orchestra plays at 6:30pm, then the Intermediate orchestra and finally the Senior orchestra. All performances are at Park Royal United Church, 11 Christie Drive in Charlottetown, and admission is $2 per person. Hope to see you there!
As if you didn’t have enough incentive to come to the concert on Sunday night, we are giving you more! The Atlantic String Machine is offering students $10 tickets to the concert, so please plan to come and join us! Your parents will have to pay $15 each but it’s still an amazing deal.
What a way to launch your music festival week! Come experience a thrilling and inspiring night of music, and we guarantee you will have fun!
Hope to see you there!
