Please let us know via email at if you have any issues with downloading the forms!

Hope to see you all at camp in a few short weeks!

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Singing Strings at our concert tonight; our musicians, their families, their friends, our audience! We can’t do what we do without all of you there!

And thanks again to the parents for lending us your children – we say this every year, but they’re wonderful and we hope to have them back in the fall.

There are still a few activities left in each orchestra – the Juniors have a concert this coming Wednesday, and the Intermediates and Seniors have one more rehearsal left on the 8th.

And if you didn’t pre-order your CD tonight – send us an email at and we can put you on the list. The CDs are $15 each and money goes towards projects next year; travel, new music, etc. We will keep you posted as to when it is all completed and ready to go.

Thanks again and congratulations to all!

2016 Celebratory Concert – May 30 at 6:30pm

All levels of the Singing Strings Youth Orchestra program will be presenting a final concert at Park Royal United Church to celebrate a successful year of music making! Come hear the Junior Orchestra, under the direction of Sue Irvine; the Intermediate Orchestra, under the direction of Jenet Clement and Wendy Evers-Forrester (with help from John Clement) and the Senior Orchestra, under the direction of Natalie Williams Calhoun. There is no charge for this event, and we would love to pack the church to hear these talented young musicians!

Music performed will include various selections from Richard Meyer, the Skye Boat Song, Tchaikovsky and Marquez. We promise a fun evening of music, so bring your family and friends!

Come cheer on Judy, Connie and Sannu!

Tonight is the final competition of the music festival – the Junior and Senior Rose Bowl competition. Two Senior Singing String players (and one alumni) are competing tonight and would love your support! Judy Yun is competing in the Junior Rose Bowl, which starts at 6:30pm, and Connie Yun and Sannu Lawt are competing in the Senior Rose Bowl at 8:00pm; both are being held in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall at the UPEI Department of Music. Tickets are available at the door. See you there!

Another concert opportunity!

I don’t know whether you’ve noticed, but there is an Atlantic String Machine concert coming up this weekend – one we at the Singing Strings are very excited about!
And there are a few exciting BONUSES for this weekend which might interest you:

1. Tickets for this concert are FREE for children aged 12 and under. And the concert starts at 7:00pm, so gather all the kids and bring them along – we guarantee there will be music that they will recognize performed live!

2. If you have intermediate and high school students between the ages of 12-17, their ticket price is only $5 if they are accompanied by an adult.

All you have to do is attend the concert this weekend, and correctly name the most movie themes performed – that person will win two free tickets to the CD launch concert /event. It will be a fun and value-filled family friendly evening this Saturday at St. Paul’s Anglican. The concert starts at 7pm, so brush up on your movie themes and I’ll see you there!

Natalie (Senior Singing Strings conductor and ASM member)

Concert this weekend – free tickets!

All the student members of the Singing Strings (Junior, Intermediate and Senior) are entitled to free tickets to this weekend’s concert of the Atlantic String Machine with Duane Andrews, on Saturday, November 21st at 7:30pm at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 101 Prince Street, Charlottetown.

Please email and let Natalie know if you are interested in the free tickets – only available for students – and children aged 12 and under are also free. There are tickets available at the door for $25 each.

This should be a wonderful concert with music performed by Newfoundland jazz guitarist Duane Andrews accompanied by PEI’s own Atlantic String Machine (featuring the Senior Singing Strings orchestra’s conductor Natalie on cello, plus teachers Sean Kemp, Karen Graves and Louis Garson as well). Check out the video below to see and hear some of the music that will be played on Saturday night!
