Vienna Sendoff Concert!

On June 26th, at 7pm at Park Royal United Church, come support your Senior Singing Strings Youth Orchestra as they perform all the music that they will be playing while on tour in Europe in July! The evening will feature string orchestra music by Josef Suk, Mozart, Puccini, as well as fun pops arrangements of music from the movie ‘Frozen’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.

We will also be giving the WORLD PREMIERE of a new piece called ‘Give Voice’ which was written specifically for the Senior Singing Strings by PEI composer, Dr. Richard Covey.

Admission is by donation.

May 30th concert POSTPONED!

The May 30th concert for the Senior Singing Strings has been postponed until June 26th, due to the craziness of the month of May! We are looking forward to presenting one last concert before we head to Vienna, and this program will include all the music we are playing in Europe, including:
– all the competition repertoire (Holst, Mozart, Suk and Puccini)
– the WORLD PREMIERE of ‘Give Voice‘, a piece specially written for the Singing Strings by Island composer Richard Covey
– more music by our favourite composers such as Richard Meyer, Bela Bartok
– including some fun pops repertoire as well!

Come support your Singing Strings as they get ready to head to the International Summa Cum Laude music competition in Vienna!

Kiwanis music festival tonight!

Come listen to all three levels of the Singing Strings orchestras tonight as they participate in the PEI Queens County Kiwanis music festival! The Junior orchestra plays at 6:30pm, then the Intermediate orchestra and finally the Senior orchestra. All performances are at Park Royal United Church, 11 Christie Drive in Charlottetown, and admission is $2 per person. Hope to see you there!
