Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Singing Strings at our concert tonight; our musicians, their families, their friends, our audience! We can’t do what we do without all of you there!

And thanks again to the parents for lending us your children – we say this every year, but they’re wonderful and we hope to have them back in the fall.

There are still a few activities left in each orchestra – the Juniors have a concert this coming Wednesday, and the Intermediates and Seniors have one more rehearsal left on the 8th.

And if you didn’t pre-order your CD tonight – send us an email at singingstringspei@gmail.com and we can put you on the list. The CDs are $15 each and money goes towards projects next year; travel, new music, etc. We will keep you posted as to when it is all completed and ready to go.

Thanks again and congratulations to all!

2016 Celebratory Concert – May 30 at 6:30pm

All levels of the Singing Strings Youth Orchestra program will be presenting a final concert at Park Royal United Church to celebrate a successful year of music making! Come hear the Junior Orchestra, under the direction of Sue Irvine; the Intermediate Orchestra, under the direction of Jenet Clement and Wendy Evers-Forrester (with help from John Clement) and the Senior Orchestra, under the direction of Natalie Williams Calhoun. There is no charge for this event, and we would love to pack the church to hear these talented young musicians!

Music performed will include various selections from Richard Meyer, the Skye Boat Song, Tchaikovsky and Marquez. We promise a fun evening of music, so bring your family and friends!

Come cheer on Judy, Connie and Sannu!

Tonight is the final competition of the music festival – the Junior and Senior Rose Bowl competition. Two Senior Singing String players (and one alumni) are competing tonight and would love your support! Judy Yun is competing in the Junior Rose Bowl, which starts at 6:30pm, and Connie Yun and Sannu Lawt are competing in the Senior Rose Bowl at 8:00pm; both are being held in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall at the UPEI Department of Music. Tickets are available at the door. See you there!
